Royal Tennenbaum

One of my favourite movies, I did this from a sketch in my moleskin, just trying to figure out coloring in illustrator

Insanity in a Book

Passport Canada

Sketched this man yesterday morning at the Passport Canada office. I realized my passport had expired and had to rush to have it renewed in time for a trip to NY in May. I got to the Sinclair Center at 7:40am – ten minutes after the office opened – and still waited over an hour!

Book Jacket and Magazine mockups

Here's a book jacket redesign for James Joyces novel, Dubliners. Also, a mockup for the Coupland article I posted previously. The last of the three Coupland photos shows how the viewer would interact with the article to learn about Coupland's career.

Lost

I was on the net looking for reference for a poster that I'm doing for the Hobbit and came across this photo of Joaquin Phoenix. While it didn't quite work as a hobbit reference, I was compelled to draw him anyways.

Sufjan Stevens & Amon Tobin

Used reference at first on Sufjan's wing, but after some time I got bored and just improvised. Took the sketch of Amon into Illustrator for some color; hope to eventually take it into PS for some modelling and softening.

Olympic Sketch

Had a lot of time to be a tourist within my hometown over the Olympics. This was sketched out quickly during an afternoon at Stanley Park.

colors are a little different in the jpeg version not sure why

Life Drawing

Classmate – Andrew – as seen during a class last semester.

My fellow classmates are among the most talented, creative, and freaking sweet people I know. I'm glad because we spend so much time with each other it would be difficult to imagine my life without them. On any given day you can scan the room during a lecture and find a handful of us paying attention to the lesson, the rest of us are intently drawing our classmates, who are unknowingly posing for us.

The Internet is My Alcohol

'The Internet is like alcohol in some sense. It accentuates what you would do anyway. If you want to be a loner, you can be more alone. If you want to connect, it makes it easier to connect.'
– Esther Dyson
This is a magazine spread I produced for an assignment. I was happy with the result, especially the illustration.

Faces

Thom Yorke of Radiohead; David Lynch; and Guy Pierce. If you havn't seen the Proposition, rent it. The soundtrack is epic as well, composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis
